"Suffering and sickness build character—God uses disease to teach you."
How it sounds in your head: Your pastor said 'God is teaching you something through this' when you were diagnosed. It made sense—suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character. Maybe God allowed this sickness to humble you, to draw you closer, to make you more like Christ. Fighting it might mean resisting His lesson.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
-- Acts 10:38Source: Religion making God the author of disease to explain theological powerlessness.
You've seen people grow spiritually through suffering, and Romans 5 does talk about suffering producing perseverance. Some of your deepest moments with God came during hardship, so sickness seems like a divine tool.
Satan afflicted Job with boils from head to foot—NOT God. God permitted the test but Satan was the afflicting agent. When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD turned his captivity and restored DOUBLE what was lost—God's nature is RESTORATION, not affliction.
I REFUSE the lie that God teaches through disease. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed of the devil—sickness is demonic oppression, not divine instruction. Jesus revealed the Father, and He NEVER made anyone sick to teach them. IT IS WRITTEN in James 1:17 that every GOOD gift comes from the Father—sickness isn't good, therefore it's not from Him. I am redeemed from the curse—Deuteronomy 28 lists disease as CURSE, blessing as HEALTH. The BARAK blessing that was on Abraham brought LIFE—even when he sinned, God didn't afflict him with disease. I stand healed by the stripes of Jesus—finished work, not ongoing affliction.
Your Father isn't the doctor writing prescriptions of cancer and diabetes to fix your character—that's religion's slander against His nature. Jesus showed you the Father's heart: He went about HEALING all oppressed of the devil. Your Father is running toward you to destroy sickness, not deliver it.
