"She balances everything while I'm constantly dropping balls."
How it sounds in your head: I see her juggle kids, marriage, work, fitness, and friendships while I can't even return texts. She seems to have it together while I'm forgetting appointments and serving cereal for dinner. What's wrong with me?
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28Enemy using another woman's curated balance to convince you that you're failing at managing your own life.
She posts her morning routine and organized pantry while you're just trying to find matching socks. Every area of her life seems managed while yours feels like constant chaos.
Mary sat at Jesus' feet doing ONE thing while Martha frantically balanced multiple tasks and demanded Mary help her juggle it all. Jesus said Mary chose the GOOD part that wouldn't be taken away - the simple focus was better than the impressive balance, immediately affirmed.
I REFUSE the lie that I should balance everything like she appears to. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 11:28 that Jesus gives me rest, not more plates to spin. I am not called to her capacity or her performance. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 4:13 - 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' - all things HE calls me to, not all things SHE does. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and my Father runs toward me with rest while I'm still drowning in my to-do list.
The Father who affirmed Mary's one thing over Martha's many things isn't measuring your worth by your productivity. He's offering you the robe of rest while you're comparing yourself to her balance.
