"Seeing a doctor instead of just praying shows I don't really trust God."

How it sounds in your head: Shouldn't I take this straight to God instead of scheduling appointments? Feels like I'm hedging my bets, trying to help God out because I don't actually believe He'll come through.

Colossians 4:14

"Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you."

-- Colossians 4:14
Enemy whispers: doctors mean you don't trust God. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Colossians 4:14 - Paul called Luke 'the BELOVED PHYSICIAN,' and Luke traveled with him, wrote two Bible books, and was never told to quit medicine for faith. Jesus didn't rebuke the woman who spent everything on physicians (Mark 5:26) - He healed her. IT IS WRITTEN that God HIMSELF gave skill to physicians (Ecclesiasticus 38:1-2 - He created medicines from the earth).
Quick Truth: LIE: Doctors = distrust God. TRUTH: Paul loved physician Luke who wrote Scripture. Wisdom + faith coexist. Col 4:14

Religion: creates false dichotomy between medical wisdom and divine trust, as if stewardship cancels faith.

Why this feels true:

You've heard testimonies of radical faith healings where people refused doctors and got miracles. Your annual physical feels like Plan B, implying God is only Plan A until you really need help.

Colossians 4:14
Luke the Physician

Luke practiced medicine while writing inspired Scripture and traveling with Paul on missionary journeys. His medical knowledge and his spiritual calling coexisted perfectly - Paul never suggested he choose between them.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that stewardship contradicts faith. IT IS WRITTEN that Luke the physician was beloved by Paul and wrote Gospel truth while practicing medicine. Seeing doctors is wisdom, not doubt. Jesus healed the woman who'd seen many physicians - He didn't condemn her for trying. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord commanded the blessing on all my ways (Deuteronomy 28:8), including medical wisdom. The BARAK blessing isn't canceled by checkups - Abraham had servants skilled in care, and God still protected him when he LIED.

But God actually:

Your Father isn't standing with crossed arms waiting to see if you'll 'really' trust Him by avoiding doctors - He's the one who gave humans the intelligence to create medicine in the first place. He celebrates wisdom AND faith, running toward you with both supernatural power and natural provision, because you're His son and He uses every avenue to bless you.
