"Satan is using my dementia to steal my mind and my relationship with God."
How it sounds in your head: I can't remember prayers. I forget Scripture. Sometimes I don't even recognize my own family. What if I forget God? What if the enemy uses this confusion to separate me from Him?
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."
-- 2 Timothy 2:13Enemy: Making her think her relationship with God depends on her mental capacity instead of His faithful grip on her.
The memory loss is terrifying and humiliating. She feels her mind slipping away and the enemy convinces her that her identity in Christ is slipping too. Every forgotten moment feels like spiritual loss.
John was an UNBORN BABY in the womb, no cognitive ability, couldn't speak, couldn't remember Scripture, couldn't pray. Yet when Mary (carrying Jesus) came near, he LEAPED for joy in the Spirit. The Spirit recognized Jesus BEFORE the brain could. Your spirit KNOWS Him even when your mind forgets.
I REFUSE the lie that dementia can separate me from God. IT IS WRITTEN that if I am faithless, HE REMAINS FAITHFUL. My relationship with Him is NOT based on my memory or mental capacity. It's based on HIS UNCHANGING GRIP. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus—not death, not life, not angels, not principalities, and NOT DEMENTIA. My SPIRIT knows Him even when my mind forgets. He holds me, not the other way around. I am SEALED with the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. Satan cannot STEAL what the blood has SEALED.
Your Father doesn't need you to remember Him—He remembers YOU. Your name is engraved on His hands. Even if your mind forgets everything, His grip never loosens. You're not holding on to Him; He's holding on to YOU.
