"Satan is too strong; I can't overcome this temptation or addiction."
How it sounds in your head: You've tried to quit a thousand times—the sugar, the worry, the control, the secret sin. Every failure proves you're weak and the enemy is stronger. Maybe some chains are just unbreakable for people like you.
"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
-- 1 Corinthians 10:13Source: trauma—repeated failure has trained you to believe your weakness is stronger than God's power.
At 60-plus, you've accumulated a long history of attempts and relapses. The pattern feels hardwired, and you've watched lifelong habits in others never change, even in believers.
The man had a LEGION of demons—so strong he broke chains, cut himself, lived in tombs, terrorized the region, completely uncontrollable. Jesus spoke, and INSTANTLY the man was 'clothed and in his right mind'—total transformation in one encounter, from violent demoniac to seated disciple.
I REFUSE the lie that Satan is too strong. IT IS WRITTEN: 1 John 4:4—greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. The enemy has NO POWER over me that God has not already overcome. I am not fighting for victory in my own strength; I am ABIDING in the Vine, and power flows naturally. IT IS WRITTEN: James 4:7—resist the devil and he will FLEE. Not 'might flee' or 'eventually flee'—he WILL flee. I am Abraham's seed, walking in the BARAK blessing—protected, empowered, free. My victory is NOT about my willpower but about CHRIST IN ME.
The Father doesn't look at your repeated failures and shake His head—He runs toward you with the power that raised Christ from the dead, the same power that lives in you, ready to flood every weakness with resurrection strength.
