"Rich people have it easy and don't understand real problems like we do."
How it sounds in your head: They've never had to worry about whether there's enough money for groceries or if the car will get repossessed. They live in a bubble and can't relate to actual struggle. Their life is on easy mode while yours is on hard.
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
-- 1 Timothy 6:17Enemy uses resentment and class division to keep you from seeing that poverty and wealth are both neutral—relationship with Jesus is the only thing that matters.
You've watched them complain about 'problems' that sound ridiculous compared to your family's real stress. They don't have to think about money the way you do, so their life genuinely is easier in that area.
This guy had everything money could buy but was so empty he ran to Jesus asking what he lacked. When Jesus told him to sell everything and follow Him, he walked away sad—his wealth was a prison, not freedom. Money didn't make his life easy; it made him a slave.
I REFUSE the lie that rich people have it easy and I'm somehow more real because I struggle. IT IS WRITTEN: riches are uncertain and can't satisfy the soul. Money doesn't fix heart problems. IT IS WRITTEN: man shall not live by bread alone but by every word from God. Rich or poor, everyone needs Jesus. I reject resentment and comparison. My value isn't in having less—it's in knowing Christ. I bless those with wealth instead of resenting them, because my security is in God who gives richly all things to enjoy.
Your Father doesn't love you more because you have less money, and He doesn't love them less because they have more. He loves both equally and runs toward both with the same grace—He's not comparing your bank accounts, He's offering relationship that satisfies deeper than any amount of money.
