"Relapse is part of recovery - I should expect it"

How it sounds in your head: They say relapse is common, even expected. It's part of the process. Don't beat yourself up when it happens - just get back on track. It's basically inevitable, so I shouldn't be surprised when it comes.

1 Corinthians 10:13

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

-- 1 Corinthians 10:13
Enemy whispers: 'Relapse is inevitable. Just expect it and restart when it happens.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 1 Corinthians 10:13 - 'God is faithful, who will NOT ALLOW you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make THE WAY OF ESCAPE.' God ALWAYS provides escape. Always. The enemy wants you planning for defeat. God wants you EXPECTING VICTORY. Relapse isn't 'part of the process' - FREEDOM is the promise. Jesus didn't die to make you a good relapse manager. He died to make you FREE.
Quick Truth: LIE: Relapse is part of recovery. TRUTH: God ALWAYS provides escape - expect victory not defeat. (1 Cor 10:13)

Source: Low-expectation recovery theology that pre-excuses failure rather than declaring victory available through Christ.

Why this feels true:

Statistics are constantly quoted, relapse rates are high, and the system prepares him for failure as 'realistic.' Planning for defeat feels like wisdom rather than agreement with the enemy.

Exodus 16:1-35
Israelites and manna

Forty years in the wilderness, daily supernatural provision, not one day did God fail to provide manna. Statistics said they should starve - God said 'I'll feed you EVERY SINGLE DAY for FORTY YEARS.' He was faithful every morning, never missed, never failed, never said 'expect some hungry days.'

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that relapse is inevitable. IT IS WRITTEN that God is faithful and will NOT ALLOW me to be tempted beyond what I can bear - and He ALWAYS provides a way of escape. I don't plan for defeat - I EXPECT VICTORY. The same God who provided manna for 40 years without missing a single day will provide me escape routes every single time. The BARAK blessing declares I am BLESSED going out and coming in - no curse days, no relapse clause, only COVENANT PROTECTION. IT IS WRITTEN that I am MORE than a conqueror through Him who loved me. I don't accept failure as normal - I declare FREEDOM as my inheritance.

But God actually:

The Father isn't preparing you for inevitable failure - He's providing you with guaranteed escape routes every single time. He's not realistic about your weakness - He's CONFIDENT in His strength in you. While others plan for relapse, He's planned your complete VICTORY.
