"Real men don't struggle with food or care about their body image."
How it sounds in your head: You're weak for even thinking about this. Men don't have eating disorders or worry about how they look. This is a woman's problem. If you're struggling with food, something is fundamentally wrong with your masculinity.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
-- Galatians 3:28Source: worldly masculinity that equates strength with suppressing all vulnerability and bodily awareness.
Every conversation about eating disorders centers women, and admitting you obsess over food feels like losing your man card. You've hidden this struggle for years because no one talks about men and body image.
Elijah, the mightiest prophet, collapsed in depression and God's response was NOT rebuke but bread and rest. An angel fed him twice, and that supernatural food sustained him forty days—instant provision for a broken man's body.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggle with food makes me less of a man. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ there is neither male nor female—all struggles are valid before Him. I declare that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and caring for it is strength, not weakness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus Himself got hungry, tired, and needed physical care. I am Abraham's seed, heir to the BARAK blessing that covers every area including my physical well-being. I walk in the same covenant that protected flawed men who still received God's full favor.
The Father sees you hiding this struggle and He's running toward you with acceptance, not shame. He already prepared provision for your body before you even asked—like He fed Elijah with angel-food when he was at his lowest.
