"Real leaders don't doubt themselves; my uncertainty proves I'm not cut out for this."
How it sounds in your head: Leaders are supposed to be confident and decisive. I second-guess every decision. If I were a real leader, I wouldn't feel this uncertain.
"So he said to Him, 'O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.'"
-- Judges 6:15World's false image of leadership combined with enemy lie that questions equal disqualification.
You see leaders who appear confident and decisive while you wrestle with every choice. Your doubts feel like evidence you're not leadership material.
Jeremiah said 'I cannot speak, I am a youth'—he doubted his ability to be a prophet. God didn't wait for confidence; He touched Jeremiah's mouth and said 'I have put My words in your mouth' and made him a prophet to nations IMMEDIATELY.
I REFUSE the lie that my doubts disqualify my leadership. IT IS WRITTEN that Gideon questioned his calling and still delivered Israel, because God's presence makes the leader, not the leader's confidence. My uncertainty doesn't prove I'm unfit—it proves I'm AWARE I need God. IT IS WRITTEN that when I am weak, then I am strong, for His strength is made perfect in my weakness. I am walking in the BARAK BLESSING where God commands blessing on my leadership because of COVENANT, not confidence. I don't lead by my certainty; I lead by His PRESENCE. Like Moses who said 'I can't speak' and led a nation, my doubts are the platform for His power.
The Father doesn't wait for you to feel confident before calling you to lead—He called Moses the stutterer, Gideon the doubter, and Jeremiah the young. He gives you the title, authority, and calling WHILE you still feel uncertain, because His strength shows up in your weakness.
