"Real faith wouldn't have these anxious thoughts and fears"
How it sounds in your head: I wake up with knots in my stomach about money, marriage, future. If I really trusted God, I wouldn't feel this anxiety. My racing thoughts expose that my faith is just surface-level religion.
"Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You."
-- Psalm 56:3Teaching that faith is a FEELING you maintain rather than a POSITION you occupy in Christ regardless of emotions.
You hear 'do not fear' 365 times in Scripture and assume that means believers don't FEEL fear. Your anxiety feels like evidence you're failing spiritually, not just human.
Angel called him 'mighty warrior' while Gideon was HIDING in a winepress, afraid of enemies. Gideon argued with God, asked for multiple signs because of FEAR and DOUBT. God still used him to deliver Israel. His fear didn't disqualify him - God called him mighty WHILE he was afraid.
I REFUSE the lie that anxiety proves faith failure. IT IS WRITTEN that WHEN I am afraid, I trust - not IF, but WHEN. David felt fear and stayed anointed. Gideon hid in fear and was called mighty warrior. My emotions don't define my position. IT IS WRITTEN that I have the peace of God, not that I always FEEL peaceful. The BARAK blessing operated through Jacob's FEARFUL running from Esau. I am the righteousness of God in Christ whether I feel anxious or calm. My Father doesn't measure my worthiness by my nervous system. The prodigal rehearsed his anxious speech on the way home and STILL got the party.
Your Father knows you're human with human emotions. Jesus sweated BLOOD in Gethsemane from anxiety - did that mean He lacked faith? Your fear doesn't disqualify you. Gideon was called mighty while HIDING, not after he got brave.
