"Real Christians have unshakable faith; my constant questions prove I'm spiritually defective."
How it sounds in your head: The kids at youth group seem so sure. I lie awake with questions I'm too afraid to ask. If I really knew God, I wouldn't question everything. There's something wrong with me spiritually.
"And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire."
-- Jude 1:22Religious culture that confuses certainty with faith and silences honest doubt as weakness instead of recognizing God invites the questions.
He sees others perform confidence while hiding his own inner turbulence. Social media discipleship looks flawless while his faith feels like a wrestling match every night.
John baptized Jesus and heard God's audible voice, yet from prison sent disciples asking 'Are You really the Messiah or should we expect someone else?' Jesus didn't rebuke him—He sent PROOF and called John the greatest born of women in the same conversation.
I REFUSE the lie that questions disqualify me from God's family. IT IS WRITTEN that God has compassion on those who doubt, making distinction for different faith journeys. John the Baptist—the GREATEST born of women—questioned from prison and Jesus ANSWERED with proof, not rejection. IT IS WRITTEN that I am complete IN CHRIST, not complete in my certainty. My identity isn't built on unshakable feelings but on the UNSHAKABLE finished work of the cross. The BARAK blessing doesn't require perfect confidence—it required perfect blood, which Jesus already provided. I am His son even on my questioning days.
The Father doesn't need you to perform certainty. He's the one who said 'Come, let us REASON together'—He literally invites the questions because He's not threatened by your mind.
