"Real Christians accept suffering as God's will—expecting healing shows spiritual immaturity and entitlement."
How it sounds in your head: You've been taught that wanting healing is selfish, that mature faith accepts whatever comes as God's sovereign plan. Your friends with chronic illness seem more spiritual in their patient endurance. Maybe your desire for wholeness is just weakness.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: Religious asceticism that glorifies suffering and mistakes resignation for faith.
Suffering believers around you seem noble and accepting while you feel needy and faithless for wanting breakthrough. Church culture rewards patient endurance more than bold faith for healing.
She was sick with a fever, lying in bed—common illness, not dramatic. Jesus didn't preach acceptance of suffering or teach her patience through affliction. He touched her hand, the fever LEFT her IMMEDIATELY, and she arose and served them. Simple sickness, instant healing, no sermon about enduring.
I REFUSE the lie that expecting healing is immature entitlement. IT IS WRITTEN: Beloved, I pray you prosper in ALL things and be in HEALTH—health is God's expressed WILL for me, not selfish desire. Jesus touched Peter's mother-in-law and her fever left IMMEDIATELY—no lecture about enduring suffering nobly. IT IS WRITTEN: By His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished work. I am under the BARAK blessing where God commands blessing on my health. Wanting wholeness isn't immaturity—it's agreement with my Father's heart.
The Father who gave you a body isn't offended that you want it to work—He's running toward you with healing in His wings, not because you're entitled but because you're His daughter and He takes pleasure in your wholeness, not your patient suffering.
