"Poverty and financial struggle run in my family and I'll never break out of this cycle of lack."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone in my family has been broke. My parents filed bankruptcy, my grandparents lived paycheck to paycheck, and here I am drowning in student loans working two jobs just to survive. This is just my family's lot in life.
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich."
-- 2 Corinthians 8:9Source: Poverty mindset reinforced by family history that makes financial limitation an identity instead of a defeated curse.
Every single family member she knows has struggled financially, creating what feels like undeniable proof that her family is just 'not money people' and never will be.
400 years as SLAVES—owned nothing, had nothing, built nothing for themselves, multi-generational poverty and oppression. In ONE NIGHT God had Egyptians GIVE them gold, silver, and clothing—they plundered Egypt and left WEALTHY. No process, no savings plan, no financial literacy course—INSTANT wealth transfer.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's poverty is my destiny. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus became poor so that I through His poverty might become RICH. Christ redeemed me from the CURSE of poverty and gave me the BLESSING of Abraham—who left Egypt RICH, who was blessed in EVERYTHING he did, whose wealth made kings jealous. The BARAK blessing is on me—blessed in my storehouses, blessed in my finances, blessed in my work, lending and not borrowing, the head and not the tail. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13-14 that Christ redeemed me from the curse so the blessing of Abraham would come on me. My family's lack does NOT determine my future. I am not bound by their financial history—I'm bound to HIS promise of provision. I walk in supernatural provision because I'm in covenant with the God who provides.
The Father isn't saying, 'Work your way out of your family's poverty'—He's saying, 'I already broke poverty's back at the cross, and I'm releasing the wealth of Egypt into your hands.' The provision is ready; you just need to believe it's yours.
