"People will always see me as the girl who had an abortion."
How it sounds in your head: I can't lead worship or serve in ministry because if they knew, they'd see me differently. I'm forgiven maybe, but I'll never be trusted or respected like someone who didn't do what I did. That label is permanent.
"Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
-- Isaiah 1:18Source: Religion creates castes of sinners—'acceptable' struggles versus 'disqualifying' ones—making some sins scarlet letters that human opinion never erases.
She sees how church people whisper about 'those kinds of women' and she's terrified of being exposed. Every time someone talks about sanctity of life, she feels the weight of condemnation, convinced her identity is permanently marked.
She had five failed marriages and was living with a man, known by the whole town as 'that woman.' Jesus made her the first evangelist to Samaria, and the whole city believed because of her testimony—her past became her pulpit.
I REFUSE the lie that people's opinion defines my identity. IT IS WRITTEN that scarlet sins become white as snow—God chose the most permanent stain to promise complete erasure. What He has washed, no human gets to re-label. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that old things passed away and ALL things became new. I am not 'the girl who had an abortion'—I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There is NO condemnation for me (Romans 8:1). The BARAK blessing covers me regardless of human memory. I am qualified by His blood, not disqualified by my history.
The Father doesn't see a label—He sees a daughter clothed in Christ's righteousness, as white as snow, fully qualified to carry His presence. He's not waiting for people's approval; He's already given you His.
