"People trusted me with leadership, but I never felt qualified—just good at appearing confident."
How it sounds in your head: Every leadership role felt like wearing a costume. I learned to project certainty I didn't feel, make decisive moves while doubting inside. They followed me, but I was leading while lost myself.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
-- Joshua 1:9Enemy accusation that confidence without constant certainty is hypocrisy rather than faith-filled obedience.
Normal leadership doubt feels like fraud when male identity demands unshakable certainty. Decades of internal fear while projecting strength creates narrative of lifelong deception rather than courage.
Esther said 'If I perish, I perish'—clearly terrified but moving forward anyway. She went before the king TREMBLING yet appeared composed. Her fear-filled obedience saved an entire nation WITHIN THREE DAYS. Courage isn't absence of fear; it's movement despite it.
I REFUSE the lie that leadership with internal doubt was fraudulent confidence. IT IS WRITTEN to be strong and courageous—God COMMANDS courage, which means fear is expected but obedience is required. My projected strength while feeling doubt wasn't hypocrisy; it was FAITH in action. IT IS WRITTEN that God hasn't given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. The Lord was WITH me in every leadership moment, making up the difference between my inadequacy and His adequacy. I am the righteousness of God in Christ—QUALIFIED by His blood, not my confidence levels. The Father celebrates a son who led in faith, not fraud.
The Father doesn't see a man who faked confidence—He sees a son who courageously obeyed despite internal fear, and He's running toward you NOW celebrating every moment you chose faith over feeling, covenant over certainty.
