"People like me don't become wealthy—we just survive."
How it sounds in your head: You've adjusted your expectations to just getting by. Thriving feels like a fantasy for other people. You've learned to be content with surviving, but deep down you wonder if there's more.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious lie: False humility that calls poverty 'contentment' and rejects God's desire to prosper you.
Every woman in your family has just survived—made ends meet, paid bills, got through. Wealth feels greedy, unrealistic, not for 'people like us.' You've spiritualized survival as godly contentment.
Down to her last meal, preparing to eat and die with her son—Elijah asked for it FIRST. She gave from her lack and her jar of flour and jug of oil NEVER ran empty through the entire famine. From last meal to daily miracle instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that survival is my destiny. IT IS WRITTEN that God's prayer for me is to PROSPER in all things, not just survive. The Lord takes PLEASURE in my prosperity. IT IS WRITTEN that I'm blessed with Abraham's blessing—the head not the tail, above only not beneath, lender not borrower. Survival is beneath my covenant rights. I am a daughter of the King, and He provides ABUNDANTLY above all I ask or think. My God supplies all my needs according to HIS riches in glory, not according to my family's history.
The Father isn't asking you to be content with crumbs—He's spreading a feast before you. He didn't send Jesus to the cross so you could just survive; He sent Him so you could have life ABUNDANTLY.
