"Pain management is the best I can hope for; total healing isn't realistic."
How it sounds in your head: Be realistic. Don't get your hopes up for some miracle—you'll just be disappointed again. The doctors are trained professionals; if they say management is the goal, who are you to expect more? That's just faith-healer nonsense. Settle for reducing the pain, not eliminating it.
"For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob."
-- Malachi 3:6Source: Religious spirit teaching that God's best days are behind us and miracles were only for the early church, mixed with medical materialism that denies supernatural intervention.
Every trusted authority—doctors, insurance companies, even well-meaning Christians—has lowered your expectations to 'management.' It feels humble and realistic, not presumptuous and foolish.
Blind from BIRTH—never seen his mother's face, never seen a sunset, congenital condition everyone accepted as permanent. Jesus spit in dirt, made mud, put it on his eyes, and sent him to wash—he came back SEEING for the first time in his life, instantly, completely, no rehab needed.
I REFUSE the lie that pain management is God's best for me. IT IS WRITTEN that the LORD does not change—the same God who healed the blind, the lame, the paralyzed is the same God who meets me today. I reject the religious spirit that declares miracles obsolete and medical materialism that denies supernatural power. Jesus took 39 lashes so I could have COMPLETE healing, not partial management. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Peter 2:24 that by His wounds I have BEEN healed—completed action, finished work. I am not settling for management when covenant promises total restoration. The BARAK blessing that flows from Abraham's covenant includes divine health as inheritance, not negotiation.
The Father isn't impressed with your 'realistic expectations'—He's impressed with His Son's finished work. While you're trying to be humble and not ask for too much, He's offended that you'd settle for less than what Jesus paid for with His blood. He's running toward you with TOTAL healing, not congratulating you for accepting partial.
