"Others need the money more than I do; wanting abundance is greedy."
How it sounds in your head: When I see missions posts or people struggling, I think maybe I should just give everything away. Who am I to want a nicer life when kids are starving? Maybe God wants me to stay simple so others can have more.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Source: Religious teaching that equates poverty with holiness, making her believe that God operates on a scarcity mindset where her gain equals someone else's loss.
She's been taught that 'blessed to be a blessing' means she should funnel everything out, never keeping anything for herself. The visible suffering of others makes her desires feel trivial and selfish by comparison.
She was down to her LAST meal—flour and oil for one final dinner before dying—when God sent Elijah to ask for HER food first. When she gave, her flour and oil NEVER ran out during the entire famine—supernatural supply for YEARS from one act of faith.
I REFUSE the lie that God operates on scarcity or that my abundance takes from others. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies ALL my need according to HIS RICHES—not according to a budget or limited supply. The same God who multiplied loaves can multiply resources for EVERYONE without my poverty helping anyone. I am Abraham's seed, blessed to BE a blessing, which means I must HAVE abundance to GIVE abundance. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord will command blessing on my storehouses—plural, not empty. I receive prosperity as a CHANNEL, not a dam, and my receiving doesn't block anyone else's blessing.
The Father isn't asking you to be poor so others can eat—He's the God of MULTIPLICATION, not division. He wants to fill YOUR cup until it overflows, not drain you dry. He ran to the prodigal with the FATTENED calf, not leftovers, because abundance is His NATURE.
