"Other men hear from God clearly, but I don't have that gift of discernment or prophecy."

How it sounds in your head: I hear about guys who get words from God, have dreams, sense things in the Spirit. I pray and hear... nothing. Or at least nothing I can be sure is God and not just my own thoughts. Maybe I'm not wired for the supernatural stuff—maybe I'm just supposed to be a practical, feet-on-the-ground believer.

John 10:27

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."

-- John 10:27
Enemy whispers: Other men hear God, but not you. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: John 10:27 - 'My sheep HEAR My voice.' Not some sheep. Not super-spiritual sheep. MY SHEEP. If you're His, you HEAR. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 2:16 that you have the MIND OF CHRIST. You don't need a special gift to hear the One who lives INSIDE you. The Holy Spirit isn't silent—He's speaking, and your job is to recognize His voice. Jesus said He speaks to His sheep and they KNOW His voice. That's not elite-level Christianity—that's basic sonship. You're a son, not a servant. Sons have ACCESS.
Quick Truth: LIE: I can't hear God. TRUTH: My sheep HEAR My voice. You have the MIND of Christ. John 10:27

Source: Religion creating a clergy class of 'spiritual' people and a laity class of 'regular' people, when Scripture says ALL believers hear the Shepherd's voice.

Why this feels true:

You spent your career in spreadsheets and strategies, not in prayer rooms and prophecy. You read about people who hear God like a conversation while you get maybe an occasional sense of peace or unease. That gap between their experience and yours feels like proof you're in a different category of Christian—saved, but not particularly spiritual.

Acts 9:10-17
Ananias

Ananias was called 'a certain disciple'—no title, no special office, just a believer in Damascus. God spoke to him in a vision to go pray for Saul, and Ananias heard clearly enough to argue back, then obeyed. One ordinary man's obedience to what he heard restored sight to the apostle Paul. No prophetic office required—just ears to hear.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that I can't hear from God. IT IS WRITTEN that His sheep HEAR His voice—and I am His sheep. I have the MIND OF CHRIST, and the Holy Spirit lives IN me, and He speaks to those He indwells. IT IS WRITTEN that the anointing I have received teaches me all things and is true. I don't need a title or an office to hear from my Father—I need RELATIONSHIP, and I have that IN CHRIST. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives IN me, and He's not silent. IT IS WRITTEN that God is no respecter of persons—what He does for one son, He does for all. I tune my ear to His voice. I HEAR and I FOLLOW.

But God actually:

The Father isn't reserving conversation for the elite—He's speaking to every son because that's what fathers DO. Like the prodigal's father who didn't make his son earn back communication privileges but spoke blessing and identity the moment he arrived, God is speaking to you NOW because you're His son, not because you've achieved some spiritual rank.
