"Other men have purpose and projects even now. I'm just waiting to die with nothing left to contribute."
How it sounds in your head: You see men still volunteering, still mentoring, still active with purpose. You're in a chair with nothing to do, no one needing you, no contribution left to make. You're just taking up space, using resources, waiting for the end. They're finishing with purpose. You're finished.
"They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:14World system defining worth by productivity and visible contribution, mixed with enemy accusation of uselessness.
Physical limitations eliminate previous roles and activities. Watching others still engaged while feeling sidelined creates sense of being done, finished, purposeless.
Simeon was old, waiting in the temple, seemingly doing nothing but waiting for death. Then God brought him the ONE MOMENT he was born for—holding the Messiah and prophesying over Him. His entire life culminated in ONE PURPOSE-FILLED MOMENT at the end. Your moment is coming.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm purposeless and just waiting to die. IT IS WRITTEN: I shall still bear fruit in OLD AGE; I am fresh and flourishing. My purpose is not defined by visible activity—it's defined by ABIDING in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN: Apart from Him I can do nothing, but IN HIM fruit is automatic. I am bearing fruit RIGHT NOW through prayer, through presence, through being a dwelling place of the Most High. My latter days are the most spiritually powerful of my life. I have PURPOSE this very moment.
The Father is not looking at you thinking 'He's finished.' He's looking at you with ANTICIPATION, knowing the fruit you're bearing in the spirit realm through simple abiding. While you see inactivity, He sees a man whose prayers are moving nations and whose presence is releasing blessing everywhere you are.
