"No one really knows me, and they never will because I keep everyone at arm's length."
How it sounds in your head: You show up to work, church, even your marriage, but there's this wall. You've got the provider face on, the 'I'm fine' mask perfected. Inside you're wondering if anyone would stick around if they saw the real struggle—the doubts, the temptations, the fear you're failing.
"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."
-- Hebrews 4:13Enemy implants this after repeated rejection or betrayal, convincing you vulnerability equals weakness.
You've tried opening up before and it backfired—she didn't understand, the guys at church gave cliché answers, or someone used it against you. Now the mask feels safer than the risk.
Nathanael was cynical, hiding under a fig tree with his doubts about whether anything good could come from Nazareth. Jesus saw him there, called out his hidden struggle, and Nathanael instantly responded, 'You are the Son of God!'—fully known led to full belief in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm unknowable or that vulnerability is weakness. IT IS WRITTEN that all things are naked and open before His eyes, and He calls me BELOVED. I am fully known by the Father—every struggle, every secret—and He hasn't turned away. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 139 that He knows when I sit and when I rise, my thoughts from afar. I walk in the BARAK blessing of Abraham—even when he LIED twice about Sarah, God defended him and made him RICHER. My connection with the Father isn't based on my transparency with others but on HIS finished work. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, fully accepted, fully seen, fully loved.
The Father already knows the worst about you and His response is to run toward you with the robe and ring. He's not waiting for you to 'open up'—He's already opened Heaven and called you son.
