"My wife's miscarriages were because I wasn't spiritual enough as the head."
How it sounds in your head: You're the spiritual covering of your home. Every miscarriage, every lost pregnancy—that was on YOU. If you'd prayed more, led better, been more righteous, those babies would be alive today. You failed as a protector and provider, even for the unborn.
"Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:3Religion teaching headship as performance-based protection, making man responsible for biological outcomes God alone controls.
At 85, you've had decades to replay every miscarriage, wondering what you did wrong. The church taught that the man's spirituality determines family blessing, and losing pregnancies feels like proof you failed your most basic job as protector and spiritual leader.
Job lost ALL ten children in one day through no fault of his own—God Himself testified Job was blameless and upright. Yet God restored and gave Job ten MORE children, proving loss of children is NOT divine punishment but something God RESTORES in His goodness.
I REFUSE the lie that miscarriages happened because I wasn't spiritual enough. IT IS WRITTEN that neither the man nor his parents sinned to cause suffering—some things happen so God's works can be revealed. I was NEVER the one holding those pregnancies together by my prayer performance. Jesus' blood covers my family, not my spiritual résumé. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation to those in Christ, and I stand as a righteous man by GIFT, not by achievement. Every lost pregnancy grieves the Father's heart, but NONE were my fault.
The Father is NOT counting your prayer journals or Bible reading streaks to decide which babies live. He's weeping WITH you over every loss, and like Job, He's planning RESTORATION you cannot yet see—children, grandchildren, or legacy that wasn't dependent on your performance in the first place.
