"My struggles make me a burden. People would rather I just keep it all inside."
How it sounds in your head: Every time you share what you're going through, you watch people's faces glaze over or change the subject. You're the friend with too many problems. You're exhausting. People tolerate you but they'd prefer the lighter version, the one who doesn't need so much.
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
-- Galatians 6:2Source: Enemy isolation strategy plus religious culture that celebrates 'fine' and punishes authentic struggle.
You've tested it—when you're light and surface-level, people engage. When you get real, it gets awkward. You've been told directly or indirectly that you're too much, too heavy, too needy. Silence feels like the gift you give people.
He couldn't walk and needed FOUR FRIENDS to carry him on a mat to Jesus—literal burden. They loved him enough to tear through a ROOF. Jesus didn't rebuke the neediness—He healed him INSTANTLY and forgave his sins. The man's need created opportunity for community's faith and Jesus' glory.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggles make me a burden. IT IS WRITTEN to bear one another's burdens—that's the LAW OF CHRIST, not an inconvenience. My need creates opportunity for others to love like Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation for me in Christ—shame doesn't get to silence me. I am the righteousness of God, and authenticity is STRENGTH, not weakness. The blessing of Abraham means I am surrounded by favor—including people who SEE me, HEAR me, and CARRY me when I can't walk alone.
The Father isn't annoyed by your struggles—He's running toward you IN them, not waiting for you to resolve them first. He's already prepared people to carry your mat, tear through roofs for you, because THAT'S how His family operates.
