And now you can't sleep—which feels like direct consequence, like God withdrawing peace because you haven't gotten this area clean. Every sleepless night is a reminder of your failure, a punishment you deserve. You can't receive rest until you conquer this.

James 5:16 says confess sins and be healed—you haven't fully conquered this, so healing (including sleep) feels withheld. The shame is real. The struggle is real. And the sleeplessness started around the same time the sin intensified, which FEELS like cause and effect. God must be disciplining you by removing rest until you get it right.
David committed adultery with Bathsheba, murdered her husband Uriah, and their first child died as consequence. Devastating. But then David comforted Bathsheba, they had ANOTHER son, Solomon, and God LOVED Solomon—called him Jedidiah, 'beloved of the Lord.' God didn't withhold blessing from David's future because of David's past. Redemption came IMMEDIATELY in the next chapter.
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual struggles disqualify me from rest or that God withholds sleep as punishment. IT IS WRITTEN: There is NOW no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Not 'no condemnation once you're clean.' NOW. David committed adultery and murder, and God called his NEXT son 'beloved of the Lord.' The BARAK blessing covered Abraham's lies, Jacob's deception, Judah's sexual sin. IT IS WRITTEN: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive AND cleanse. I confess my struggle. I receive forgiveness NOW. Not after I prove I'm healed. NOW. My sleep is not earned by purity. It's received by GRACE. The blood of Jesus covers what I can't conquer in my own strength. I am a BRANCH abiding in the VINE, and the Vine produces purity—I don't manufacture it. I RECEIVE rest NOW as a son, not after I'm a perfected saint. No condemnation. Only grace. Only rest.
The Father isn't withholding rest until you get your act together—He's the one who sent Jesus to DIE for you while you were still a sinner. The prodigal came home reeking of prostitutes and pig filth, and the Father RAN, EMBRACED, RESTORED. No lecture. No probation. INSTANT sonship. Your struggle doesn't disqualify you. His grace covers you. Sleep is yours. NOW.
