"My racing thoughts and confusion mean I'm losing my salvation along with my mind."
How it sounds in your head: I can't remember things. My thoughts are jumbled. Sometimes I'm confused about what's real. If I can't even think clearly, how can I have faith? What if dementia steals my salvation because I can't remember Jesus?
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
-- Romans 8:38-39The enemy uses cognitive decline to create terror that mental capacity determines spiritual security.
Faith comes by hearing, and if she can't process what she's hearing, if she can't remember truths she once knew, it feels like her foundation is crumbling with her mind.
Lost his mind completely - lived like an animal, ate grass, lost all human reasoning for SEVEN YEARS. When his sanity returned, he praised God and his kingdom was restored. Mental incapacity didn't void God's purposes or presence.
I REFUSE the lie that mental decline threatens my salvation. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING separates me from God's love - not confusion, not memory loss, not jumbled thoughts. My salvation isn't maintained by my mental capacity; it's maintained by HIS BLOOD. Even if I forget Him, IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Timothy 2:13 that if I am faithless, He remains FAITHFUL, for He cannot deny Himself. I am sealed with the Holy Spirit, and no amount of cognitive decline can break that seal. I am BARAK-blessed by covenant, not by cognition.
Your Father doesn't panic when your thoughts are confused. He's not in heaven worried you'll forget Him into damnation. He holds you more securely than you ever held your own children, and His grip doesn't loosen when your mind does. You're SAFE in His hands, regardless of what your brain can process.
