"My questions and doubts disqualify me from receiving miracles"
How it sounds in your head: I have so many questions about why God allows suffering, why prayers go unanswered, why good people suffer. Real faith doesn't question. My doubts block God from working in my life.
"So Gideon said to God, 'If You will save Israel by my hand as You have said—look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said.' And it was so."
-- Judges 6:36-40Religion equated honest questions with rebellious unbelief and made intellectual wrestling evidence of spiritual failure.
She's heard 'lean not on your own understanding' and 'doubt nothing' preached as absolutes. Every theological question feels like sin, every moment of confusion like disqualifying unbelief.
Thomas said 'Unless I see the nail marks and put my finger where the nails were, I will NOT believe'—the most famous doubter in Scripture. Jesus didn't rebuke him or disqualify him. He showed up specifically FOR Thomas, invited him to touch the wounds, and called him to faith WITHOUT condemnation.
I REFUSE the lie that questions disqualify me. IT IS WRITTEN that Gideon tested God twice and God answered both times with patience. Thomas doubted and Jesus showed up specifically for him, no condemnation. My honest wrestling is not rebellion. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, covered by the BARAK blessing that held Abraham when he laughed at God's promise, Sarah when she doubted, Moses when he argued at the burning bush. IT IS WRITTEN to work out my salvation with fear and trembling—that includes questions. The Father welcomes my wrestling like Jacob at Peniel—and blesses me in it.
The Father isn't threatened by your questions—He's inviting you to wrestle like Jacob did and come out blessed. Your doubt doesn't push Him away; it often pulls you deeper into truth He wants to reveal.
