"My preference for logic over emotion makes me cold and unable to connect spiritually with God."
How it sounds in your head: You relate to God through understanding, Scripture, theology—not through feelings and experiences. Church culture makes you feel like the head-faith guys are missing the real relationship with God that the heart-faith people have.
"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, 'If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.'"
-- John 8:31-32Charismatic emotionalism that equates feeling with encountering God and elevates subjective experience over objective truth.
You don't 'feel His presence' the way others describe. You connect with God through His Word and truth, and wonder if you're missing the real, intimate relationship everyone else seems to have.
Apollos was 'mighty in the Scriptures,' eloquent, instructed in the way of the Lord—he connected with God through KNOWLEDGE and powerfully refuted opponents through Scripture. God used his logic-driven faith to strengthen entire regions.
I REFUSE the lie that logic-based faith is cold or inferior. IT IS WRITTEN: If I abide in His WORD, I am His disciple INDEED. My connection with God through truth, Scripture, and understanding is not second-class—it's SOLID GROUND. IT IS WRITTEN: I am transformed by the renewing of my MIND. My logical wiring doesn't distance me from God; it roots me DEEPLY in who He truly is. The BARAK blessing doesn't require emotional experiences—it rests on COVENANT TRUTH that never wavers.
The Father isn't disappointed that you don't 'feel' Him in emotional highs—He's delighted in a son who KNOWS Him through unshakable truth. He's running toward your mind saying 'I made you to understand Me deeply; that's REAL intimacy.'
