"My poor stewardship disqualified me from receiving more from God."
How it sounds in your head: I made bad financial decisions - investments that failed, business ventures that collapsed, money mismanaged. The parable of the talents haunts me: the servant who buried his talent was rejected. I wasn't faithful with what I had, so why would God trust me with more? I proved I'm a poor steward.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Performance-based provision teaching that God withholds blessing based on financial management skills.
Actual poor financial decisions are documented in failed businesses and lost investments. Religious teaching about stewardship creates a merit system where blessing requires proving financial competence.
The prodigal demanded inheritance EARLY, blew EVERY PENNY on wild living and prostitutes, ended up feeding pigs - the worst financial steward imaginable. When he came home, the father gave him the RING (financial authority), the ROBE (status), and the fattened calf (wealth) IMMEDIATELY - no probation period, no 'prove yourself first.'
I REFUSE the lie that past financial mistakes disqualified me from future provision. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL A SINNER, Christ died for me - He didn't wait for competence. The prodigal destroyed everything and got the RING the same day. God's provision is based on CHRIST'S performance, not mine. The BARAK blessing is COVENANT, not competence. IT IS WRITTEN that I am redeemed from the curse of poverty. I receive the Deuteronomy 28 blessing NOW - commanded blessing on my storehouses. Past failures don't cancel present covenant. PROVISION is flowing NOW.
Your Father doesn't have a performance review waiting for you. He has a RING in His hand - the same ring of authority He gave the prodigal who proved himself the worst steward in history. He's not withholding until you prove competence - He's GIVING to prove HIS faithfulness.
