"My physical limitations make me too much work for everyone around me."
How it sounds in your head: They have to cut your food now. Someone has to help you dress. You can't drive anymore. Every outing requires planning around your limitations. You're too much work to take anywhere. They'd rather leave you home.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Enemy twisting decreased ability into decreased worth, making limitations evidence of being burdensome
Everything takes longer now. People have to adjust their pace for him. Simple tasks require assistance. He can see the inconvenience in their faces when accommodations are needed.
Mephibosheth was crippled in both feet, couldn't walk, required help for everything. David didn't find him too much work—he brought him to the KING'S TABLE permanently, gave him servants, restored his inheritance. His limitations didn't disqualify him from royal treatment.
I REFUSE the lie that my physical limitations make me too much work. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness. My need for help doesn't decrease my worth. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and in the field, in strength and in limitation. The BARAK blessing doesn't require physical ability—it's COVENANT, not performance. I am not too much work. I am the exact place where God's power rests. My limitations are the platform for His strength to shine. I am BELOVED at every pace.
The Father isn't measuring how much work you require—He's delighting that you're still here. He's running toward you saying 'I gave you this body for 85 years and I'm STILL sustaining it—every limitation is held in My capable hands.'
