"My past trauma surfacing now proves I never really healed or had faith"
How it sounds in your head: I thought I dealt with this decades ago. Why is it back? Did I not forgive enough? Did I not have enough faith? Real healing should be permanent.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Source: Religion - the false teaching that healing is a one-time event and any resurfacing proves the healing was fake.
You've done the prayer ministry, the deliverance sessions, the forgiveness work. Seeing the same pain resurface decades later feels like proof that none of it worked and you failed at healing.
She had suffered 12 years and spent all she had on doctors who made her worse. When she touched Jesus, she was healed IMMEDIATELY - the fountain of blood dried up instantly, and she felt in her body that she was healed.
I REFUSE the lie that resurfacing trauma means I never healed. IT IS WRITTEN that God does a NEW thing that springs forth NOW - healing can come in waves and layers, and each one is valid. The woman with the issue of blood spent 12 years and all her money, but the moment she touched Jesus, healing was IMMEDIATE and complete. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 1:6 that He who began a good work in me will complete it. I am Abraham's seed, covered by the BARAK blessing that renewed every morning. The Father isn't disappointed that I need another touch - He's eager to demonstrate His power again.
The Father doesn't look at your resurfacing pain with frustration - He sees it as another opportunity to prove His love at a deeper level. He's running toward you with fresh oil, fresh wine, fresh robes, because the cross is sufficient for every layer of your story.
