"My past mistakes disqualify me from God's best blessings."
How it sounds in your head: That relationship. That party. Those choices freshman year. God's Plan A for you is gone—you blew it. Maybe He'll give you Plan B if you work really hard, but His BEST? That ship sailed when you compromised.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
-- Romans 8:1Source: Religion's shame culture that teaches God has a hierarchy of blessings reserved for 'pure' people—ignoring that every hero of faith was deeply flawed.
Purity culture told you God had one perfect person for you and if you messed up sexually, you'd get 'second best.' You compare yourself to girls who 'stayed strong' and feel like you're permanently in the clearance section of God's blessings.
She was a Canaanite prostitute—the 'wrong' ethnicity, the 'worst' profession. God not only saved her and her family but placed her in the DIRECT lineage of Jesus—she got God's absolute BEST, the Messianic line, despite her past.
I REFUSE the lie that my past disqualifies me from God's best. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ—not Plan B, not second-tier blessings, NO condemnation period. Rahab the prostitute is in the lineage of Jesus. David the adulterer and murderer was called a man after God's heart. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK that isn't based on my history but on COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN: if anyone is in Christ, they are a NEW creation—old things passed away, ALL things became new. My past is washed in the blood. I qualify for God's BEST because JESUS qualifies me.
The Father isn't sorting His blessings into 'best' and 'second best' based on your track record. He put a prostitute in the lineage of Jesus and called an adulterer a man after His own heart—His BEST is for the disqualified, and the blood of Jesus makes you FULLY qualified.
