"My parents stole my childhood, and I'll never get those years back."
How it sounds in your head: Friends talk about carefree childhoods—yours was survival mode. Parentified at eight, walking on eggshells, managing adults' emotions. The developmental stages you missed can't be retrieved. You're permanently behind emotionally because those years are GONE.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy using stolen time to deny God's redemptive power to restore the years.
The developmental psychology is clear—critical windows were missed. You feel the gaps in your emotional formation, the playfulness you never learned, the security you never internalized.
Lost EVERYTHING—children, wealth, health, reputation—in what felt like divine abandonment. Years of suffering seemed irretrievable. Yet God RESTORED double everything Job lost in ONE DAY of turnaround, gave him new children, and let him live 140 more years seeing four generations—the lost years were MULTIPLIED BACK as blessing.
I REFUSE the lie that my stolen childhood is irretrievable loss. IT IS WRITTEN that God RESTORES the years the locust has eaten—He's not limited by time or developmental windows. What my parents consumed, my Father is GIVING BACK as present wholeness. IT IS WRITTEN that He works ALL things together for good—even the years I lost become ingredients for glory I couldn't imagine. God is restoring the playfulness, the security, the carefreeness I missed—not as nostalgia, but as PRESENT REALITY. My Father redeems time itself.
Your Father is doing a JOB right now—preparing a DOUBLE RESTORATION of everything your childhood lacked. He's not saying 'too bad, you missed it'—He's saying 'watch Me give you the security, joy, and freedom you missed, multiplied into your present in ways childhood couldn't have contained.' The restoration is BETTER than if the theft never happened.
