"My parents got divorced because of money problems, so I should avoid marriage."
How it sounds in your head: They said money was one of the main reasons they split up. I heard the lawyers and counselors talk about financial issues. Money destroyed their marriage and now I live in two houses. Why would I want to get married if money just ruins it anyway? Maybe it's safer to just be alone.
"And the Lord God said, 'It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.'"
-- Genesis 2:18Enemy using parental divorce to establish fear of covenant and future relational avoidance.
The divorce papers literally listed financial disagreement as a reason. You live the consequences daily—two houses, split holidays, divided life. Money's connection to your family breaking apart is documented and real. The evidence is legal and permanent.
Ruth was a broke foreign widow with zero prospects, and Boaz was a wealthy landowner. Massive financial gap. They married and their union brought BLESSING to both families—wealth combined with covenant produced the lineage of King David and ultimately Jesus. Money didn't divide them, it multiplied through their unity.
I REFUSE the lie that money destroys marriages or that marriage isn't safe for me. IT IS WRITTEN that it is NOT GOOD for man to be alone—God designed marriage as BLESSING, not curse. My parents' struggle doesn't define my future covenant. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing brings fruitfulness to my house, including my future marriage. I am Abraham's seed, and God is preparing a covenant partner for me where finances flow with UNITY. I break agreement with fear of marriage and isolation. God is already writing a BETTER story for my future family, and it includes joy, provision, and peace.
Your Father sees you building walls around your heart to protect from pain you watched your parents endure, and He's running toward you with HOPE. He's not preparing you for loneliness—He's preparing you for a covenant that actually works, with His wisdom from the start. He's already picked someone for you who will build with you, not against you.
