"My parents cutting me off financially means God is cutting me off too."
How it sounds in your head: They said if you don't go to their church, they're done paying for stuff. They found out about your girlfriend and now they're threatening to not help with college. If your own parents would cut you off, why wouldn't God? You're losing your human father's support—you must be losing your heavenly Father's too.
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."
-- Psalm 27:10Source: Projection of conditional human love onto God's unconditional covenant, using parental rejection to counterfeit divine rejection.
Your parents' provision WAS your proof of God's provision, and now one is gone so the other must be too. If the people who are supposed to love you unconditionally just added conditions, why wouldn't God?
Joseph's own BROTHERS sold him into slavery, completely cutting him off from family and inheritance. God responded by promoting him to SECOND in command over Egypt with instant wealth and authority—what family rejected, God MULTIPLIED beyond imagination.
I REFUSE the lie that my parents' financial rejection means God's financial rejection. IT IS WRITTEN that when father and mother forsake me, THEN the Lord takes me up—their cutting me off is my heavenly Father's invitation to step IN. Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery and God made him RULER of Egypt. IT IS WRITTEN that if earthly fathers give good gifts, how much MORE does my Father in heaven give to me. My provision isn't tied to my parents' approval—it's tied to my Father's covenant. The BARAK blessing doesn't come through human inheritance—it comes through DIVINE promise.
Your Father isn't punishing you because your parents are—He's running toward you BECAUSE they stepped back, ready to show you that His provision never depended on their approval. He's not like your earthly father adding conditions; He's the Father who gives the ring and robe to the son who deserves nothing.
