"My mind won't shut off at night. I'll never sleep peacefully again like I used to."
How it sounds in your head: Every night it's the same—lying there at 2 AM, replaying everything. The doctors' appointments, the financial worries, wondering if this is just how life ends. My body's exhausted but my brain won't cooperate. Even the pills barely work anymore.
"I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."
-- Psalm 4:8Enemy stealing rest that belongs to you by covenant—making you feel your mind controls you instead of Christ in you controlling your mind.
Your mind genuinely races at night with legitimate concerns—health issues, family worries, mortality questions. The physical evidence is undeniable: you're lying awake right now, have been for months, and your body feels the exhaustion.
God put Adam into deep sleep to perform the first surgery—creating Eve from his rib. Adam didn't 'try' to sleep or 'work on his sleep hygiene'—God GAVE sleep as a gift, even for something as significant as removing a rib and creating his wife.
I REFUSE the lie that my mind controls my nights. IT IS WRITTEN that I will both lie down in peace AND sleep, because the Lord ALONE makes me dwell in safety. My sleep isn't dependent on my circumstances being resolved—it's dependent on HIS nature as my Shepherd. IT IS WRITTEN that He gives His beloved sleep, and I am His beloved, clothed in Christ's righteousness. I am blessed coming in and going out, blessed when I lie down and when I rise. The BARAK blessing that protected Abraham's sleep protects mine. I receive supernatural rest NOW, in Jesus' name.
The Father isn't waiting for you to 'calm down enough' or 'fix your thoughts'—He's running toward you with the gift of sleep right now, the same way He gave it to Adam, to Jonah in the storm, to Jesus in the boat. He gives His beloved sleep because you're beloved, not because you've mastered your thoughts.
