"My mind is going and soon no one will recognize who I really am—not even God."
How it sounds in your head: You forget names, lose words mid-sentence, repeat yourself. The dementia fear is constant. What if you lose yourself completely? What if you become someone unrecognizable, unreachable, unloved because 'you' aren't even there anymore?
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands."
-- Isaiah 49:15-16Enemy exploiting dementia fears and medical reality to lie about God's covenantal knowledge of you beyond cognition.
The cognitive changes are real and terrifying. Memory loss feels like identity loss, and you're convinced that if you can't remember who you are, God can't love who you're becoming.
Nebuchadnezzar lost his MIND completely—ate grass like an animal, lost all human cognition and dignity for seven years. When his understanding returned, God INSTANTLY restored his kingdom, honor, and splendor—proving identity and covenant aren't based on cognitive function.
I REFUSE the lie that memory loss makes me unlovable or unrecognizable to God. IT IS WRITTEN that I am INSCRIBED on the palms of His hands—not in pencil but ENGRAVED. Dementia cannot erase what's carved into God. My Father knows me beyond my cognition, loves me beyond my memory, holds me beyond my awareness. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING can separate me from the love of God—not tribulation, not distress, not DEMENTIA. I am sealed with the Holy Spirit, marked as His FOREVER. Even if I forget Him, He will NEVER forget me. I receive peace about my future, supernatural clarity in my present, and the Father's unshakeable covenant over my identity.
The Father sees your dementia fears and doesn't see abandonment ahead—He sees a daughter so INSCRIBED on His hands that no disease can erase her. He's not waiting for you to remember Him; He's holding you WHILE you forget, loving you THROUGH every loss, never letting go even if you can't hold on.
