"My mental health struggles make me unfit to mother"
How it sounds in your head: Some days I can barely get out of bed. How can I raise healthy kids when I'm dealing with depression and anxiety? They need someone stable.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Worldly standard that equates mental health challenges with parental disqualification
She feels the weight of her struggles and fears they're transferring to her kids. Every hard day feels like evidence she shouldn't be doing this.
Elijah battled suicidal depression, wanted to die, and slept under a tree in despair. God fed him, let him rest, and then used him for decades more of powerful ministry—depression didn't end his calling.
I REFUSE the lie that mental health struggles disqualify me from motherhood. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is PERFECTED in my weakness. I am not parenting in my own strength—Christ's power rests on me. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 34:18 that the LORD is near to the brokenhearted. My kids are watching God's faithfulness in REAL trials, not staged victories. That's powerful discipleship.
Your Father is running toward you with the robe of 'MORE than enough' even on the days you can barely function. He's carrying what you can't, and your kids are seeing His faithfulness, not your failure.
