"My logical approach is unloving; real compassion requires feelings I don't naturally have."
How it sounds in your head: I solve problems while others cry with people. I offer solutions when they want empathy. Maybe my practical wiring means I lack the love that marks real Christians.
"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us...he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence."
-- Romans 12:6-8Emotional culture that equates feelings with caring, teaching that conflates empathy with sympathy, feminine stereotype that women must be emotionally expressive.
Friends vent and she offers strategies, then gets told she's 'not listening.' Her problem-solving feels cold compared to friends who weep with those who weep.
When Nehemiah heard Jerusalem's walls were broken, he wept and fasted (verse 4)—but then immediately moved to strategic planning, resource gathering, and project management (chapter 2). Compassion led to SOLUTIONS, and both were loving.
I REFUSE the lie that logic opposes love. IT IS WRITTEN that there are DIFFERING gifts—some exhort with emotion, others serve with strategy, and ALL are valid expressions of the same Spirit. My problem-solving isn't cold; it's how I love—by fixing what's broken. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 I'm redeemed from the curse and blessed with the BARAK. Nehemiah's compassion looked like construction plans. My practical wiring is LOVING because it produces lasting help. I am righteous, compassionate, and my logic is a GIFT.
Father is running toward your solutions with people who need strategic love, not just emotional support. He made some to weep and others to BUILD—both are needed, both are love, both are Him.
