How it sounds in your head: Mom's exhausted driving me to appointments. Friends don't invite me anymore because I might have an episode. I see the frustration when I can't keep up. I'm killing the vibe, slowing everyone down. Better to just withdraw and stop being a problem.

The body of Christ is DESIGNED for interdependence, not isolation. You're not a burden—you're an opportunity for others to experience the JOY of carrying what Christ carried for them. Shame says hide; love says SHARE. You don't have to earn the right to be cared for—you're FAMILY.

WHERE THIS LIE COMES FROM

Shame's lie that needing help makes you worthless—rooted in independence instead of the body of Christ.

Why this feels true:

He literally sees the inconvenience his illness causes—missed plans, extra expenses, family stress. People do treat him differently, sometimes avoiding him to avoid the awkwardness. The world values independence and self-sufficiency, so needing help feels like failure. Isolation seems like kindness.

THE BIBLICAL PRECEDENT Mark 2:1-12
Paralytic lowered through roof

Four friends literally tore apart someone's roof and lowered a paralyzed man to Jesus—massive inconvenience, property damage, interrupting a packed meeting. Jesus didn't rebuke them for the disruption; He saw their FAITH and IMMEDIATELY healed the man. The 'burden' became the breakthrough. The man walked out carrying his mat, and everyone glorified God.

The Father isn't annoyed by your need—He's MOVED by it. Just like He ran to the prodigal smelling like pigs, He's running toward you in your weakness, not with frustration but with COMPASSION and healing power.
