"My ideas don't matter because I'm just a kid. Adults don't take me seriously."
How it sounds in your head: When I raise my hand with an idea, teachers smile and move on. My parents say 'that's nice, honey' but don't really listen. I'm too young for my voice to count. I need to wait until I'm older to matter.
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
-- 1 Timothy 4:12World system that dismisses youth combined with religious teaching that children should be 'seen and not heard.'
Adults interrupt him mid-sentence or dismiss his suggestions. He's experienced being patronized and his age used as a reason to discount his input.
Josiah became king at age 8 and by age 16 'began to seek the God of his father David.' At 20, he led a national reformation. God didn't make him wait until he was 'old enough'—he changed a NATION as a teenager.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies my voice or value. IT IS WRITTEN that NO ONE can despise my youth—I am an example NOW, not someday. God has given me ideas, creativity, and insight that matter TODAY. IT IS WRITTEN that out of the mouth of babes God has ordained strength. My voice carries weight in Heaven. I am not waiting to matter—I matter RIGHT NOW. The BARAK blessing flows through me at THIS AGE. God is not waiting for me to grow up—He's using me TODAY.
The Father doesn't have a minimum age requirement for significance. He crowned an 8-year-old king and used him to reform a nation. You're not too young—you're right on time.
