"My health issues mean God can't use me like He used to."
How it sounds in your head: You need energy and strength to serve God effectively. With your medications, limitations, and doctor appointments, you're more liability than asset. Maybe just pray for the younger ones to do the work.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious teaching that ministry requires physical strength, making God's power dependent on human capability.
You're exhausted by noon, need afternoon naps, and can't do what you did at 40. The church asks young people to serve on teams, not those with prescriptions.
Moses was 80 years old with a speech impediment when God called him to confront Pharaoh and lead millions out of slavery. His age and disability became the backdrop for the greatest deliverance in Old Testament history, proving God's power needs no human qualifications.
I REFUSE the lie that my physical limitations limit God's power through me. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness, and His grace is sufficient for me. IT IS WRITTEN that Moses led at 80 with a speech problem, and Paul's thorn magnified Christ's power. I am a branch connected to the Vine—the same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me. I don't produce fruit by my strength; I abide and HE produces through me. The BARAK blessing isn't based on my health but on His covenant, protecting and prospering me regardless of physical condition.
The Father isn't waiting for you to get stronger—He's showcasing His strength through your weakness. What looks like limitation to others is the exact qualification He's been waiting for: total dependence on Him instead of yourself.
