"My friends have more freedom and fewer rules than I do."
How it sounds in your head: They can stay up later, watch whatever they want, go wherever they want. Your parents are stricter. You're missing out on what everyone else gets to do. You're the only one with these restrictions.
"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life."
-- Proverbs 4:23Enemy twists protective boundaries into evidence of unfair limitation to breed resentment.
Different parenting styles create visible differences in restrictions. FOMO (fear of missing out) amplifies perceived unfairness.
Daniel refused the king's food and wine that everyone else enjoyed, choosing stricter boundaries. After ten days, he and his friends were healthier and wiser than those who indulged—instant vindication of protective choices.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm missing out. IT IS WRITTEN to guard my heart with all diligence because my LIFE flows from it. What others call freedom might be bondage I'm being spared from. I trust that boundaries are BLESSINGS, protecting my future. IT IS WRITTEN that no good thing does God withhold from those who walk uprightly. I'm not restricted—I'm PROTECTED. I carry the BARAK blessing, which includes wisdom to avoid traps others fall into. I declare God's plans for me are good, and what looks like limitation is actually LIBERATION from junk that would steal my destiny.
The Father isn't trying to make you miss fun—He's protecting you from traps disguised as experiences. What you think you're missing out on is exactly what He's sparing you from because He has something BETTER prepared.
