"My financial mistakes disqualify me from the prosperity promises in Scripture."
How it sounds in your head: Those promises are for people who tithed faithfully and managed well. You've got bankruptcy and foreclosure on your record. Deuteronomy 28 blessings require obedience you haven't shown.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus."
-- Galatians 3:13-14Religious legalism teaching that covenant blessing is earned through financial obedience rather than received through Christ.
Deuteronomy 28 clearly links blessing to obedience and cursing to disobedience. Her financial disasters look exactly like the curses listed, and her choices weren't obedient.
Jacob deceived his father Isaac with lies to steal Esau's blessing—pure fraud and family betrayal. When Isaac discovered the deception he trembled, but declared, 'I have blessed him—and he SHALL BE BLESSED'—the blessing couldn't be reversed even by deception.
I REFUSE the lie that financial mistakes disqualify me from prosperity promises. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse so the blessing of Abraham comes upon me IN CHRIST. Jacob lied and deceived and was still blessed because covenant isn't based on perfect behavior. I am Abraham's seed by faith in Christ, and that makes me an HEIR according to PROMISE. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:29 that if I am Christ's, I am Abraham's seed. The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, not by credit score.
Your Father didn't disqualify Abraham when he lied, Isaac when he deceived, or Jacob when he committed fraud—the blessing stayed because it's based on COVENANT. You're in a BETTER covenant with BETTER promises through Christ's blood, and your financial history doesn't change His nature.
