"I didn't tithe my allowance so now God won't bless my money."
How it sounds in your head: I spent all my allowance without giving God His part first. The youth pastor said tithing unlocks blessing. I forgot and now I'm cursed. God's mad and won't help me with money anymore until I get it right.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Source: Religious teaching putting children under Old Covenant law, making blessing conditional on tithing performance.
He heard specific teaching that tithing is the 'key' to financial blessing and feels the mathematical certainty that he broke the rule. The Malachi 3 'robbing God' sermon scared him.
God blessed Abraham and gave him the covenant BEFORE he ever gave a tithe or offering. The blessing came first as a gift, not as payment for performance or giving.
I REFUSE the lie that my financial blessing depends on perfect tithing. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes all grace abound toward me - GRACE, not my giving percentage. I am not under law but under grace. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine by covenant, not by calculation. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law. Malachi 3 was Old Covenant temple tax - I'm in the New Covenant where God's supply flows from His nature, not my giving record. I give because I'm blessed, not to get blessed. All sufficiency in all things is mine NOW.
Your Father isn't withholding provision because you didn't calculate percentages correctly. He's already provided everything you need through Christ, and He gives to you freely because that's who HE is, not based on what you remembered to put in the offering.
