"My father's absence means I'm unworthy of being pursued or protected."
How it sounds in your head: He chose alcohol, work, another family, anything but you. You learned early that you're the kind of person people leave. Even now, you pre-emptively withdraw from relationships, convinced pursuit only happens to other women—the ones whose fathers showed up.
"The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Trauma interprets one man's failure as evidence of your value rather than his brokenness.
The absence was REAL and it happened during the years your brain was learning what you're worth. Every disappointment, every recital he missed, every birthday without a call—they stacked up as proof you're not worth showing up for.
Abandoned pregnant in the desert by the family that used her, invisible and disposable, certain she'd die alone. God didn't require a long healing journey—He INSTANTLY appeared to her, saw her, spoke to her, and she became the ONLY person in Scripture to give God a name: El Roi, the God Who SEES me.
I REFUSE the lie that my father's absence determines my worth. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord my God REJOICES over me with singing—I am celebrated, pursued, delighted in every single moment. My earthly father's failure does NOT define Heaven's response to me. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the BARAK blessed—chosen, pursued, protected by covenant, not by performance. I am El Roi's daughter—the God who SEES me has never looked away. I am worth showing up for because HE says so, and His voice is the only one that counts.
The Father has been singing over you every moment your earthly father was silent—His pursuit never wavered, never conditional, never based on your worthiness. Right now, this second, He's rejoicing over you with gladness, not waiting for you to heal enough to deserve it, celebrating you wildly and completely just as you are.
