"My family's wealth was built on corruption, so I don't get to benefit from blessing."
How it sounds in your head: I hear the whispers—how my grandpa made his money, the shady deals, the people who got hurt. Even if I have something now, it feels dirty, like blood money I shouldn't touch. Clean people with clean money probably get clean blessings, but not me.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Source: Religious purity system that ties God's blessing to moral genealogy instead of covenant blood that makes all things new.
If you know your family's wealth came from cheating, lying, or hurting others, it feels morally wrong to benefit from it. The world teaches 'dirty money corrupts,' and religion adds 'God won't bless what was gained through sin,' so you assume you're disqualified by association.
Jacob DECEIVED his blind father Isaac, impersonated his brother Esau, and STOLE the firstborn blessing through outright lies. When Isaac discovered the deception, he trembled but said, 'I have blessed him—and he SHALL BE BLESSED.' The blessing couldn't be reversed even though it was gained through fraud—because covenant blessing isn't about clean acquisition; it's about God's irrevocable word.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's past disqualifies me from covenant blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that if I am in Christ, I am a NEW CREATION—old things, including family corruption, have passed away. Jacob STOLE the blessing through lies and God made him Israel. Abraham LIED twice and God made him obscenely wealthy. The BARAK protected murderers, liars, and deceivers not because they were clean, but because they were COVENANT. My inheritance doesn't depend on my grandfather's morality; it depends on Jesus's blood, which cleanses ALL things and makes me righteous apart from works. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, the head and not the tail, and no family history can revoke what covenant blood activates. I am Abraham's seed through Christ—fully qualified, fully blessed, fully clean.
Your Father doesn't trace your family tree to decide if you qualify for blessing—He looks at the CROSS where His Son's blood purchased your full inheritance and made you righteous apart from any history. While you're worried about your grandfather's dealings, He's running toward you with the ring and robe because you're a new creation, not a tainted branch.
