"My family's betrayals cursed my ability to trust. I'll always expect abandonment. Broken trust is my inheritance."
How it sounds in your head: My dad left. My uncle embezzled from family. My brother lied for years. I can't trust anyone fully—I'm always waiting for the betrayal, the other shoe to drop. Every friendship feels temporary. Every relationship has an exit plan. I'm cursed to mistrust.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

He's been betrayed by people who should have been safe. His nervous system is wired for suspicion. He sabotages relationships before they can hurt him. Therapists talk about 'attachment styles' formed in childhood like they're permanent. The pain of family betrayal makes trusting anyone feel naïve and dangerous.
Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers who sold him into slavery, then falsely accused by Potiphar's wife, then forgotten by the cupbearer—layers of abandonment and betrayal. Yet when reunited with his brothers, he INSTANTLY forgave them saying 'you meant evil but God meant it for good'—no years of trust rehab, immediate restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that family betrayals cursed my ability to trust. IT IS WRITTEN: I trust in the LORD with ALL my heart—my capacity to trust isn't defined by who left me. My father's abandonment does not determine my Father's faithfulness. IT IS WRITTEN: He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me. Betrayal is not my inheritance—the COVENANT OF FAITHFULNESS is. My family's broken promises don't break God's kept ones. I am not cursed to suspicion—I am BLESSED to trust the One who cannot lie.
The Father is running toward you like Joseph's brothers feared he wouldn't—not with the punishment your betrayals earned but with EMBRACE, with PROVISION, with 'you meant evil but I meant GOOD.' He's not like your dad who left. He's the Father sprinting toward you while you're still far off, trustworthy when everyone else failed.
