"My family's betrayal proves I was never truly loved."
How it sounds in your head: My children visit once a year. They fight over my things while I'm still breathing. If they loved me, they wouldn't treat me like this. Maybe I was never actually loved.
"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him."
-- 1 John 3:1Enemy: Uses others' sin as 'proof' of your worth, convincing you that betrayal reveals you were never valuable rather than revealing THEIR brokenness.
Their actions are undeniable—neglect, greed, coldness. The enemy twists their sin into a statement about HER value, making betrayal about identity instead of their choices.
Jesus came to His OWN people, and His own received Him NOT. If the Son of God was rejected by those He created, betrayal says NOTHING about worth and EVERYTHING about human blindness. His value wasn't determined by their response—neither is yours.
I REFUSE the lie that betrayal proves I was never loved. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father has bestowed SUCH love on me that I am called a CHILD OF GOD (1 John 3:1). Their failure to love me is THEIR blindness, not my lack. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and field, in storehouses and basket (Deuteronomy 28:3-5)—the BARAK blessing rests on me, regardless of human response. I am loved with an EVERLASTING love (Jeremiah 31:3), chosen before time began. I declare: My worth is NOT determined by their actions but by His BLOOD.
The Father looks at you and doesn't see what your children missed—He sees His DAUGHTER, bought with the blood of Jesus, crowned with glory and honor. Like the Prodigal who was celebrated despite his sin, YOU are celebrated despite others' rejection. Their betrayal is about THEIR poverty, not your value. You are SO loved that God gave His ONLY Son (John 3:16). That's your worth.
