"My family has always been poor, so I'll always be poor too"

How it sounds in your head: Everyone in my family struggles with money. My parents argue about bills. My friends have newer phones and go on vacations we can't afford. This is just who we are, and I'm stuck with it forever.

Galatians 3:13-14

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

-- Galatians 3:13-14
Enemy whispers: Your family's poverty is your destiny. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Galatians 3:13-14 - Christ has redeemed you from the curse and given you the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM. That blessing made Abraham obscenely wealthy even when he LIED twice. IT IS WRITTEN that you are Abraham's seed if you're in Christ (Gal 3:29), which means the barak blessing is YOUR inheritance, not because your family earned it, but because JESUS bought it with His blood. The curse ended at the cross. You're under blessing NOW.
Quick Truth: LIE: Family poverty is my destiny. TRUTH: Christ redeemed me from the curse into Abraham's blessing - generational poverty ended at the cross (Gal 3:13-14)

Enemy + generational: Satan uses family patterns to blind you to covenant identity, making temporary circumstances feel like permanent destiny

Why this feels true:

You've literally never seen anyone in your family have financial breakthrough, so your brain accepts poverty as genetic fact. Every family gathering includes money stress, making wealth feel like someone else's reality.

Ruth 1:1-4:17
Ruth

Ruth was a poor Moabite widow from a cursed nation (Deut 23:3), gleaning scraps in fields to survive. Within ONE HARVEST SEASON, she went from destitute foreigner to married wealth, owning property, and becoming King David's great-grandmother - all because she attached herself to covenant people.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my family's poverty defines my future. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse and gave me Abraham's blessing (Gal 3:13-14). My parents' struggle does NOT determine my covenant position. I am Abraham's seed through Jesus, which means the barak blessing that protected and prospered LIARS and DECEIVERS now rests on ME - not because I earned it, but because Jesus BOUGHT it. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and in the field (Deut 28:6). Generational poverty ENDED at the cross. I walk in generational BLESSING starting today. The same God who took Ruth from gleaning scraps to owning fields in one season is running toward me with wealth NOW.

But God actually:

Your Father isn't waiting for your family to get their act together - He's running toward you RIGHT NOW with the blessing that's already yours. While you still smell like poverty, He's putting the ring of authority on your finger and throwing a party because you're a SON, not a slave to family patterns.
