You've watched relatives destroy their lives with substances. Doctors and counselors warn about 'genetic predisposition.' It feels like you're walking through a minefield of DNA.
Possessed by a LEGION of demons (6,000), lived naked in tombs, cut himself with stones, broke chains, couldn't be bound by anyone, completely enslaved for years. Jesus spoke ONE word and he was INSTANTLY 'clothed and in his right mind'—total freedom, immediate transformation.
I REFUSE the lie that addiction is my genetic destiny. IT IS WRITTEN that if the Son makes me free, I am FREE INDEED—no exceptions, no disclaimers, no 'but your family history.' Sin does NOT have dominion over me because I am under GRACE, not under genetic predisposition. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY, and the Spirit LIVES IN ME. IT IS WRITTEN that I have been delivered from the POWER of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God's dear Son. I am not an addict waiting to happen; I am a FREE SON walking in liberty. The BARAK blessing protects me from the curse of bondage. Addiction has NO LEGAL RIGHT to my life.
The Father doesn't see you as a recovering addict who never used. He sees you as FREE—not because you've resisted temptation heroically, but because freedom is WHO YOU ARE in Christ. He's not nervously watching you around substances; He's confidently watching His son walk in the liberty He already gave you.
